This September 24 (2021), the youth are calling to #UprootTheSystem in the face of the climate crisis and all other crises affecting our world.
The climate crisis does not exist in a vacuum; the various other crises systematically affecting billions of people in the world amplify and are amplified by climate change. As we continue the call for climate justice, our fight must center the struggles of the most affected peoples and areas (MAPA) in our local communities and around the world, to ensure that no one is left behind.
It is only by forging unities do we stand a chance at resolving the climate crisis and building a society that puts people and the planet first.
The most affected peoples and areas, or MAPA, are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis yet are often those most ignored. Our fight for climate justice must put their calls and campaigns at the center of the struggle. From MAPA in your local communities to the MAPA of the world, it is by fighting alongside our environmental defenders, workers, and all other oppressed sectors of our society that we can push for an alternative to the system we currently live in.
Our struggles are interlinked; their fight is our fight. Climate justice is social justice!
To world leaders, addressing the climate crisis needs a reimagination of our current way of life. Systemic injustices have left the most affected peoples and areas (MAPA) vulnerable not only to climate change but also to the COVID-19 pandemic and other crises impacting the different regions of the world. There is no time to lose; now more than ever, you must all listen to the science, listen to the people!

I like the sound of this. Talking about climate change is important, but we need action too.
💯💯💯 Actions is where the solutions await
