What comes to your mind when you see Plants?
What comes to your mind when you see Plants? Do you think of them as food, beauty, business, oxygen producers or home to other species?
They may be easily taken for granted, yet they are our planet’s life support system. They are the only species that take in Carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. The rest of us take in Oxygen and breathe our carbon dioxide. We went ahead to create more stuff that too gave out carbon dioxide and other dangerous gases in huge amounts.
So they remain our important shot in balancing the most important gas that keeps us alive. But we rarely see them that way.
We depend on plants more than they depend on us
Unlike animals who will mostly need care from us, all their lives. Plants just need help at the beginning, and once their roots have been deeply rooted and connected to the soils. They are able to fight for their survival by themselves. Until we bulldoze them down and they are not able to fight the merciless blades.
With this in mind, we should be able to embrace plants in our living space. Not only will our living space have more life, but oxygen will also be in plenty.
We have a wide variety of plants to grow, hence minimizing any obstacles of not having them around.
It is also important to ensure that we grow the right species in the right places. To avoid introducing invasive species or unsuccessful growths.
Plants offer medicinal value
We may have advanced in technology and medication options, but plants remain key in the field of medicines.
The researchers and scientists spend their time and resources to learn the content of these plants. So as to understand what they contain, which kills diseases.
Medicines from greens have no side effects, as long as they are used in the right way and right dosage.
Although, we seem not to believe very much in herbalists these days.
They provide homes
They have been homes to almost all living species. They are able to provide shelter.
Wildlife, in particular, they are able to have a place to get a cooling shade when it’s hot, place to hide from their enemies, place to sleep, etc.
Wildlife is able to get food and shelter.
They are also used as hideouts, camouflage by these animals.
As we continue to green our planet, it is important to understand how useful these plants are.
We will then be able to offer them attention support they need to be on their own. And be helpful to all of us.
